Hi Tech Fiber Lifelines

Click here to Return to Onboard Safety Gear

Safe lifelines are vital for keeping crew connected to the boat in all conditions. Cracking or rust on vinyl coated lifelines or "meat hooks" means it is time for replacement.
Historically, vinyl coated stainless steel wire or uncoated wire has been used for lifelines because there have not been other viable alternatives.
Now, with the availability of high tech fibers, there is an easy to install, affordable and safe alternative that is attractive and soft on the hands. Vinyl coated lifeline quotes on from Practical Sailor

By reusing your expensive hardware where possible, lashings instead of turnbuckles, and self install, our customer configurable kits make lifeline replacement easy and affordable. You will be more inclined to update your lifelines on a more frequent schedule, and know that you are doing your utmost to keep your crew safe and connected.

What do I buy?

The unique configurable lifeline kits below let you design your own lifelines.
We understand that boats are not all the same and "standard kits" may "fall short" of your particular requirements. Our kits are sizable and we offer options so that you can choose your configuration based on safety, cost and aesthetics.

Click here to open our lifeline guide page in a separate window. The guide explains how to take measurements and helps you decide which kits you will need. Choose the suitable configurable kits below and simply specify the lifeline length you need.

The high strength, low stretch line we use is stronger than coated or un-coated stainless steel wire. It has about the same life but is easy to inspect.

High Tech line is easy on the hands and sails, and can be removed for winter storage. These lifelines are simple to remove and install.

We use lashings instead of turnbuckles. This allows easy release of lifelines in a man-overboard emergency by cutting the lashings, and does not damage the lifelines.
